July 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic Update from Peru - Good news to share!
As of July 1st, the situation in Peru is beginning to improve. The COVID-19 induced quarantine in Peru is over, and now after 107 days of strict restrictions, the Peruvians can go back out onto the streets as normal.

Water is certainly the most abundant resource in the world. After all, 71% of the earth’s surface is covered by water. It seems then paradoxical to say that despite its abundance, by 2025, half of the world’s population will be living in water-stressed areas.
Alpaca Meat, an Exotic Traditional Peruvian Food
Closely related to the Ilamas but much smaller, the alpaca is a domesticated species of South American camelid descended from the vicuna. Although alpacas are mostly raised for their soft and luxurious fleece, they constitute a savory traditional Peruvian food.

What a Difference Seven Months of Clean Water Can Make!
Recently, Vera Aqua Vera Vita’s (VAVV) Founder & Executive Director, Jacob Niemeier, and Peru Project Liaison, Alberto Montoya (providing translation) sat down with the Mayor of Monte Castillo, Javier Leonidas, for a follow-up Review Interview via telephone on the “State of the Water Treatment Facility” in Monte Castillo that VAVV funded. Operation of the Facility officially commenced on August 3, 20219.
A&M University Partners with VAVV to Provide Engineering Support
Developing partnerships with local resources is part of making things work within the nonprofit sector, where groups and individuals share their skills and knowledge to enhance projects and help each other meet specific goals. These partnerships are also beneficial to lessen the high cost of contracting specialized consultants.
Dallas Ministry Conference Presence
Vera Aqua Vera Vita had the blessing to have a booth at the University of Dallas Ministry Conference and while Jacob, the Executive Director, was happily hosting the VAVV booth he was approached by Dave Palmer the Executive Director of KATH 910AM and kindly asked to go live on the air with him at the conference. Of course, Jacob graciously accepted and was accompanied on the air by Monica Ashour the Founder of TOBET to share a brief update on their respective ministries.
New Moonshine in Town
There’s a new kind of moonshine. In some parts, it’s a hot commodity, and only a few people can get it. It’s called clean water. It’s the top conversation at Vera Aqua Vera Vita’s largest annual fundraising event, “An Evening at a Speakeasy” on Oct. 5, 2019, at Saint Paul’s Parish Center in Richardson, Texas.

There is a ministry aspect to Vera Aqua Vera Vita’s work as well. The organization teaches the spiritual characteristics of water based on a Catholic teaching called Theology of the Body. This teaching is about the connection between body and soul, and how God intends for his people to live, Niemeier said.
